Following Timor Leste's independence, many pro-independence refugee children were sent to Java for education, far from their parents who stayed behind in refugee camps in East Nusa Tenggara. Years later, on his 14th birthday, Tori, a refugee living in Yogyakarta, embarks on a journey back home. Carrying an important mission, Tori returns to the refugee camp to deliver letters from his friends to their parents, from whom they have been long separated.
